Simply by ‘being there’ you are making a difference to Kenyan lives … and creating memories that will stay with you forever …
We launched One Horizon ten years ago to establish programs that would change the lives of impoverished African women and children.
We loved visiting their communities to engage with them, share their stories and see their lives transform. We figured others would too so we launched our sustainable tourism arm with two goals in mind – to raise revenue to fund more programs and to share the experience of engagement and ‘changing lives’ with others.
We don’t ask One Horizon travellers to build anything because we take our women’s and children’s programs into existing community centres, schools and orphanages – and we contract builders and carpenters to create the homes and other infrastructure required for our community programs.
Nor do we ask you to volunteer because we employ salaried Kenyan teachers, social workers, carers and security staff – One Horizon has changed their lives too!
Your contribution to change is simply to visit, connect and know your travel experience with One Horizon is helping to fund our humanitarian programs.
As you’ll see in this video, it’s also an opportunity to play your part in changing Kenyan lives forever. You see, One Horizon embraces the five pillars of 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development …
