So amazing are the sights we witness in our magical country that not a day goes by without someone exclaiming: Only in Kenya! But our guests, and the Kenyans in the communities we visit, have coined a new phrase: Only With One Horizon!

You see, on a One Horizon people safari we’ve come to expect the unexpected. Sometimes it’s a gesture from a guest showing their admiration and appreciation to the Kenyans who’ve hosted them. Other times it’s the reverse – a show of respect and gratitude to our guests by Kenyans, who’ve adopted another everyday expression: We’re amazed that people care.

But that’s what our sustainable travel is all about – it’s a two-way street. The connections that form between Kenyans and our travellers are strong, the bonds are real and a One Horizon people safari becomes an emotional and life-changing journey for all.

Take Gary, for example, who’s featured in the video below. On a holiday to Kenya, Gary’s family joined us on our Masai Magic safari to a traditional Masai village. As they were discovering the ways of the Masai, we learned it was Gary’s birthday and the Masai warriors of the village set about planning a surprise celebration for him – as only Kenyans can, with song and dance, warmth and laughter.

Here’s what people mean when they say Only with One Horizon. As you’ll see from Gary’s reaction he truly was surprised – and humbled.  After all how many people on the planet can say they celebrated their birthday with one Masai warrior bearing the cake and another leading the song and dance?
