With 50% of the population in Africa living on less than $3.00 per day and subsequently below the poverty line it is not surprising that children often go without the basics at school. This means that workbooks often have to be shared amongst children and in most school’s textbooks are non-existent or simply beyond the reach of parents. In Kenya, many children can only dream of owning their own pens, coloured pencils and a backpack.
